Gonna try a new format for this compilation here. Took my notes down as I went along listening. Hope you enjoy:
3420 & Hydroglyph – Drift Very chill/clean, nice drum switch, crazy bass guitar sounding thing very 80s retro YouTube visuals feel.
charles nimbus – Infiltrate Ukg vibes, crazy off guard barely on tempo sounds going on, feels like I’m lagging in real time, 2nd drop bass is mad ting innit.
headnod – Zeolite Mysterious ass vibes. Loving this bouncey sounding bass like a rubber band flinging around. Percs are insane. Super quality track.
crawdad sniper – Turbulence A groove groove. Nice beastie boys sample. Some crazy panning, condensed but somehow very huge atmosphere at the same time, prolly the wind chimes. Beautiful ending piece as well.
B+ – Alchemy Off the bat nice af snare. This is soooooo nice. Such a crazy switchup. That Charles influence is strong as fuck. Love this one.
Hydroglyph – Climax Idk why but this one making me feel like if the 1930s NYC jazz club scene was resurrected in the year 2030. That piano in the background thru out got them jazz club vibes.
Milano – Swarm What even actually are these lil background noises honestly. Obviously Milano makes it all come together for a toasty bop. Definitely sorted his Ableton tracks by ‘Last Created’ and pulled out his ‘2014 Carmack Type Beat’.
P A T H – Delinked Speaking of unexplainable sounds, wtf is this lol. I can like weirdly visually see someones mouth getting stretched out during the drop like the ‘Bulworth’ soundtrack cover. Second drop is absolute gas.
Hydroglyph & P A T H – Beef Whaleington Design on this whole track is nasty. I feel like this clears 100+ stems on the Ableton file lol. Very much a journey in itself. Just wish it was a little longer.
ikuma & headnod – Air Dribble The kick/sub be kickin & subbin. That piano absolutely setting the mood right. Need this track played during a sunrise set on the funktions this summer 2024.
Dismal Harmony – Ecleptic Definitely some video game music. More so a video game that has the word ‘Wave’ in it. Wavey af. Or a wavey surfing game with also incorporates the 80s retro visuals from the track ‘Drift’ from earlier I was talking about. Wait is this a fucking guitar solo holy shit.
ikuma & 3420 – Pelicant Idk why the pelican samples caught me so off guard going into this track lol. Perfectly feeling like I’m on a beach rn. Sitting under one of those big ass umbrellas with sunglasses on. Just got back from swimming in the ocean. Possibly eating a turkey sandwich with cheese hoping I don’t get surrounded by birds attacking me, causing me to go viral from a TikTok someone posted called ‘Man gets attacked by birds for his sandwich!!’
Overall, I’m soo impressed with this compilation. From top to bottom, this thing is on par or better than the forefront of what’s being heard today. Quality is insanely clean like I’m taken aback. Shout the Six Star Records crew, who earned a solid 6/5 rating from me with this.
