Still dunno where tf The Log Cabin came from but I’m fully here for it. Been putting out nothing but heat so far. Lets see what they got for their 3rd installment (Cover art is gas btw):
absnt – iknowyou Loving the vocals through out this track. Really help piece the whole thing together. Percs got that groove, melody in tact, got me feeling like I’m going up the stairs of a castle during a rain storm. Nice start.
Cambot – NOT BAD Its a Cambot track so its kinda automatically NOT BAD. More important vocals being implemented loving that. This thing going deep deep with the classic lost dogz flavor clicky melodic sounds. Second drop deepness hitting powerfully.
AbtomAL – Brawleri Okay crazy sound design? This feels like being at a rave when Cali was on fire & the sky was all red. Something that viral UPS driver would’ve been bumping that day.
Gehena – Tengo Sucker for vocal sampling like this over some ass shaking beats. Second drop is filled to the brim with sounds keeping the movement flowing. Loving this one.
JESTIC – Lttlhrt God damn had to turn it down like 3 notches for this one. Definitely the literal exact opposite of the ‘Tengo’ track looool. Loving that lil switchup at 1:20. Kick/sub with the vocals go so well together during that part. This a track that makes you pay attention if you had lost it before.
NELLUC – Smooth Like Butter Back to the groove. This is like a lullaby groove type beat. Loving that piano & that snare is raw as hell. Sounding like some live piano playing and drums. Really cool track that helps you center yourself back to earth while listening to the project.
Snuggles – COOL BLIPPY THING Was fortunate enough to catch Snuggles live about a month ago. He was casually dropping tracks here & there that sounded like to be 2010s dubstep. Love to see that this track has little elements of that in the drop, but also a nicely hitting modern day buildup & a current day feeling. Very much a Snuggles track.
impasta – phat Shit is straight up hitting. Another great snare detected. Super plucky bop. First drop is just straight to the point heat, then second drop evolves like a Bulbasaur to a Venusaur. Ngl second drop is very Venusaur using ‘Solar Beam’ energy.
Prestus – LEECH This buildup got me having absolutely no idea where this track is headed. Ahh okay drop just hit. This is sick. Sounds are sooo in your face. God damn I thought the first drop was heavy enough then the second drop came in. Shit is blasting.
Volume Unit – Sway Oh shit its mfin Volume Unit. Some familiar Volume Unit energy on the first drop, second drop got me bouncing. Love the vocals & tempo of this track. VU bass/lead little jab things always get me.
PANDOH – goo propaganda PANDOH once again bringing heat to the table. This one has a very interesting sounding lead I never heard from him during a non-drop…really cool to hear. Drops incorporate that lead very nicely tho & bring the whole track together, creating another banger from the boi.
Overall, I’m very pleased with the 3rd compilation from The Log Cabin! A stellar lineup of artists they’ve pulled from that continue to put on some of the best innovators out right now. My only critique is the placement of the JESTIC track, which is sooooo heavy while in the middle of two tracks that are not that vibe. The track is solid af, but for a listener it can be a stir up of emotion for sure.
I’m happy The Log Cabin exists & looking forward to Vol. 4.
