I love the trippy drippy blippy sounds. This is my introduction to StrykerSteele, who has done a wonderful job on this ep ‘Good For It’, which properly conducts the trippy drippy blippy sounds I crave.
The self titled intro has that super groove that I specifically love. Sometimes in this style, the main attraction or pull could be the crazy weewoop sound design stuff, but the icing on the cake is that groove. This whole EP delivers on groove & flow throughout that anyone can appreciate.
Love the chill toned downness of ‘Malachite Rite’ as well. Got sort of a Gramatik feel at points & makes me want spring right now. The EP closes out with ‘We Were Here’ which includes very emotional tones being overridden by crazy breaks, and right into an excellent breakdown/piano movement to close the EP out.
I’m very glad to have been put onto StrykerSteele & very pleased from this EP. Excited to see what’s next & catch up on the catalog.
