What an amazing collab EP we got here. As you know, I absolutely Stan tf out of Herbalistek, but to see Symbiosa thrown in the mix as well? Lets see what they got for us:
Murky Whatever that sound is at 0:14 is so sick lol. Reminds me of 80s horror movies like Halloween. For some reason the way the vocal echos its sounds like he’s saying Banana. That low bass & kick is so sick over a bunch of crazy deep sounds. And also high pitched squeal type sounds that making me feel paranoid af. 2nd drop be hitting hitting god damn. Sounds all over the place, definitely not escaping that paranoia vibe. A very strong start here.
Suborbital Bruh my floor is shaking off rip lmao. Absolutely loving this classic trap bass formation & the crazy warped-ness sounds within it. Perc game going crazy. Loving the simplicity of the massive deep drive going on throughout, while the hi end is just chaotically mending itself within the track.
Whenever you hear a riser like what’s at 3:00 with a song that has Herbalistek on it, you know you’re in for some shit when you reach the end result. Drop doesn’t disappoint & that simple low end starts popping off. Also snare in this track crazy underrated forgot to mention. 2 for 2 so far fellas
Plot Twist I knew this project would be somewhat “dark” sounding when I first seen it announced, but I didn’t think it would be this extreme. They really not holding back from the low ass vibe.
Pretty much on par for what we’ve been hearing so far, then 1:25 hits. Bonkers. Kinda reminds me of something Shanghai Doom would be doing. But wait, there’s more. Can’t tell if this is half time signature or if we’ve reached space time continuum via electronic music. Another brilliant track
Seabeams Okay that piano melody thing is crazy. Tempo with this track is absolutely on par. Classic little subtle beeps. Drums are building up….2:23 ayo what the fuck. This shit is so clean & crisp & insane loooool. The pitches and melodic vibe these guys are setting is truly outrageous. I don’t even know what to think of this.
Overall, a super congrats to both Herbalistek & Symbiosa for putting out a stellar project! No doubt in my top contenders of 2024 for best project I’ve heard so far. Impressive from beginning to end. Will definitely be playing these out & can’t wait to hear these tracks on a proper system this festival season!
