METAPROSE – GRIEF LP

With a swish of his wand and a tip of his hat, METAPROSE slams this evocative body of work down our desk with authority.

INTRO (AMP FUCK) is a warning shot into space, celestial and crass. PRESAGE starts from a whirr, into a roar, finally whipping itself into a flywheel spinning free of its cage, flying off into some other galaxy.

HALSEN is a stutter influenced, white-noise-awash, exercise in testing the fidelity of your headphones. Hang on tight, as the LFO will fuck you up from 0:00 to 3:05.

SUBSTRATE is another standout – clearly influenced by KOAN SOUND, but with a fresh and unique take on the interstitial segments that dot the landscape of the vocals and bass intertwined.

Last but not least – REPRISE is the type of tune you hear when the doors open at the end of a warehouse rave. 6AM. Cold morning air. A touch of frost on the grass. A couple of girls smoking Djarum Blacks by the exit, asking if you’ve seen Tony. A red Nissan in the back of the lot with a hand out, beckoning…

This is METAPROSE’s GRIEF LP.
